Previous Employment
- BSE, Inc., President/CEO, Boulder Creek, CA (May 2003 to
October 2006)
Consulting and contracting in hardware and software systems engineering. Partner
participation in startup business including commercial product and medical devices.
Most recently provided hardware and software services to Datatransit in San Jose
for their bus analyzer product line and hardware and firmware design for the
LoTense products.
- Auspex Systems, Hardware Platform Development Manager, Sunnyvale, CA (December 1999 to
May 2003)
After contracting at Tandem Computers for two years I accepted a job as manager
of the hardware and firmware development team responsible for ServerNet Switch
and NIC development. My duties included technical management of seven hardware
and software engineers designing Tandem proprietary System Area Network components.
My cross-functional project management included; hardware and software design,
mechanical design, marketing, vendors, QA and technical support.
- Compaq Tandem Division, Manager of Hardware and FIrmware Development, Cupertino, CA (July 1997 to
December 1999)

- BSE, Inc., President/CEO, Boulder Creek, CA (May 1988 to
July 1997)
During this period I ran my own consulting business specializing in embedded
systems, microprocessor and micro-controller systems hardware and software
design, applications engineering, and technical interface with Japanese
companies. Design efforts specifically include medical products, avionics and
marine electronics, digital signal processing, distributive processing systems,
and common module development.
- AXLON, Vice President of Research, Sunnyvale, CA (May 1987 to
May 1988)
I led research activities at AXLON, reporting directly to Mr. Nolan K.
Bushnell. I was responsible for investigation and development of high
density optical storage media, robot navigation systems, automated asbestos
removal systems, and material sciences research projects.
- Panatech Semiconductor, Chief Engineer, Santa Clara, CA (April
1985 to May 1987)
Panatech Semiconductor was the marketing and technology partner of RICOH
Electronic Device Division in Japan. My responsibilities included product
and customer engineering support, new product technical specification, and
technical communication with RICOH. I have designed and developed support

project.
- McDonnell Aircraft Company, Lead Engineer, Avionics Lab,
Advanced Design Group, St. Louis, Missouri (November 1983 to April 1985)
I managed the Biocybernetics Communication Project within the Advanced
Design Group. The system that I designed and developed used digital signal
processing techniques for pattern recognition of subject brain wave (EEG)
information. Studies were conducted, under my direction, to use EEG
information to monitor pilot workload and allow aircraft control through
thought recognition. I also developed advanced sensors that detect the
magnetic field of the brain (MEG) using fiber optic sensor technology.
- McDonnell Aircraft Company, Senior Engineer, Avionics Lab, AV8B
Stores Management ATE, St. Louis, Missouri (December 1981 to November 1983)
I was group leader for the AV8B weapons system ATE. My responsibilities
included complete hardware and software design of the ATE, subsequent
testing of vendor supplied weapons systems, and integration with aircraft
avionics. As part of the ATE I designed a portable weapon simulator system
using extensive distributive processing techniques.
- McDonnell Aircraft Company, Engineer, Avionics Lab, SAR/ADG
Group, St. Louis, Missouri, (April 1981 to December 1981)
During this period I developed a flight test
weapons system for the YAV8B aircraft. This included all hardware and
software design, testing, and aircraft integration. This system made
close to one hundred flights and weapons tests without failure.
